One important thing that can say is to find where are your light sources and what are they. Are they interior or exterior? In your reference image you can see that the main lighting source is sun and it's reflected light from exterior objects. you haven't much interior light sources. So you have to made your main lighting with one light as sun.
Just tell me which renderer you use? Then I would can help more. -
Doug 17 posts22 Jun 2006I tried to use mental ray, to make it more realistic, however I seem to be having a more success with scanline and the light tracer.

ALi 608 posts22 Jun 2006Do you have the Vray. I have more experience than mental ray. How ever I'll try some solutions with mental ray and will post the result. And about scanline. If you wanna use that I can suggest you radiosity, (I haven't used light tracer) It can make great results.

Doug 17 posts24 Jun 2006Thanks for the help, I tried applying some of the techniques as advised, and this is what I came up with, I think I would like more color being bounced off, the walls and such,(do i have to add a refraction map to get that effect?) but anyways HOW is this? I used Mental Ray to render...
