hey guys.... i'm new here and i had a great time reading through all the posts and it seems that there are a lotta vray users here so i thought i'd post my problem here aswell and see if anyone else is facing that too
whenever i try to make an animation using vray i get a lot of noise..... even after using a vrmap..... usually its in two places
1) two very close edges.
2) metal reflections
i can usuallly remove the noise due to the very close edges by enabling the normals in antialiasing... but that increases the render time painfullly.... but i still have some problem with the reflections... can anyone help?
oh and are there any good tuts for vray compositing........
hmmm... no replies yet well how about someone tell me how they usually do their renders in vray with high amount of metal reflections in them? like tysons car crash or other small animations that he has done with vray,
ALi

you can change the sampler size (i'm not sure what was the name. may be rQMC sampler). it will improve it. but for example if you double the size, render time will be doubled. another thing is to change the antialiasing filter type. and if you use GI you have to increase the samples (specialy for light cache) that sure will increase the render time.
Let us see one of your rendered images. it may helps.
Hey man, could you post some screenshots of the specific problems you're having? There are all different kinds of noise that could potentially appear in a render, so right now your problem description is a little vague
