Vray is a powerfull renderer and lots of different effects can be achieved but i dont think tyson used vray (maybe wrong) i think hes just god at everything and used scanline lol.
As for vray you may need to look on the internet for vray tutorials on Global Illumination or GI for short, this will make the effects alot more realistic. If you wanted to go the whole holygamoly and have the ultimate realism effect try playing about with depth of field in the render effects.
Please be patient on replys tho dont give up so soon, some people may not be online for 2-3 days due to work and also everyone lives in different time zones so atleast give a 2-3day chance for people to reply.
