Help on Hotbuttons!

09 Sep 2005Need help creating my own hotbutton set inside 3dsmax7.
I want to make CTRL+R the relax tool which can be found inside edit poly mode, but i cannot see it in the configuration menu inside 3dsmax. I see the relax modifier but its not at all the same. If anyone could find out how i could get that hotbutton on, it would be great! -
09 Sep 2005Hey man...oddly enough...I looked and could not find it either :S....even when I filtered the list to display only editable poly commands, there was still no relax tool setting.

10 Sep 2005Hey Tyson, you'll probably be happy about this one - Wahooney made this script for everyone for the same exact reason. So make your hotkey, and relax away! lol
ps. He has some animation / bone tools you might like also. -

10 Sep 2005ive used it sometimes but never gave it a decent use, i wonder if u guys use the tool that often..

Although the relax tool (when it comes to UVWUnwrap) is VERY cool

10 Sep 2005I use it allll the time! Every model I use it on, but im a highpoly modeler. I dont know if anyone would have a relation to that kind of modeling im doing.

10 Sep 2005oh i've used it on uvw's, but not religiously. only a couple times. i was mainly wondering what it does for edit polys

10 Sep 2005tyson: it prettymuch normalizes the selected polys, very usefull.

Cool! I'll have to try that....I know I can sometimes end up with messy polygons that could defintiely use a good normalizing! -
11 Sep 2005huh, i though relax would "relax" the model, reducing charpness etc..
and yep i imagine the relax uvw tool can be very usefull, what i dont understand is the editable poly one, sorry, i didnt specified
