Yep, that's right. After watching the videos posted here on the forums that feature Michael Hutchinson's IKSolver for Maya (his "Elastik" plugins), I was inspired to implement his "smooth IK" function into my stretchy-IK script.
Using a normal distribution curve, my script will now apply a compensatory stretch to IK chains even before they've reached full extension in order to smooth out the usual "snap" that occurs when you fully extend an IK chain.
When you apply the script to your IK chain, a custom attribute is also added to the Ik Chain Point of the chain, that allows you to further control the amount of smoothness that is applied to the chain, as well as turn the smoothness feature on and off.
Try it out! Smoothness is turned on by default, so all you have to do to see the effect of the script is apply the script to an IK chain and then drag the IK chain point around.
