Thanks for that Cam - I did try it that way, also tried renaming and importing the whole lot from an existing scene. It almost works but there are a couple of probs.
The FK works fine for both arms on the imported rig - but when I use the FK/IK switch I get the following probs.
1. His right arm becomes detached at the elbow: I think this may have something to do with the fact that the right IKchain doesn't seem to be part of the 'character'... not sure why that is and I tried to add it to the character list - sounds easy enough but then the link between the IK goal and the parent object (ie. the green rectangle) is broken. If I link them back up again the IKchain gets removed from the character list!
2. The switch almost works for the left arm... all the controls seem to work fine, but the Lowmax arm objects don't jump to the actual hidden bones, they remain in FK: Now this I'm pretty sure is a problem with the reaction manager - but I'm not too clued up on that and not sure where or how to start editing.
