Is ther a alternative to Dreamscape?

03 Jan 2007well im searching for a water and sky simulation thing mountains are not so important does anybody know a cheaper and something maybe with a demo version to test?

04 Jan 2007I third the notion, terragen without a doubt. After messing with it for a while, and adding some cool plugins for clouds and whatnot, I think you'll find that it's a fantastic solution to this kind of problem. Vue might be the ultimate for this sort of thing, but it's ultimately expensive, and even with a renderfarm of good size, pretty slow. And the new version of terragen that just came out is pretty sweet as well.

04 Jan 2007there's Bryce, too. a little while ago, Daz was giving away Bryce 5.5 for free, to promote 6 about to come out. 6 is out now. not as cool as Vue, but a heck of alot cheaper!

ok as i can see both of them are not plugins for max so i think there is no real alternative to max :S -

05 Jan 2007terragen. With out a doubt. The problem I had with bryce is the meshes are large that down scaling the poly cut the model Q down. bad textures.
