How to turn back to the default square selecting tool?

Jonathan 480 posts13 Jan 2007I must have hit a button on accident, but each time I go to select something (that is, for example, hold down the left mouse button and drag to select multiple items, it's now currently set on the settings that is similar to Photshop's polygonal lasso tool, where you draw lines around what you want to select instead of the regular box.
How do I go back to box, this thing is annoying!

up on the toolbar at the top of the screen should be a button with a dotted line on it in kinda that shape that's in your screen capture. click and hold on that, and a little drop down menu appears, and you can pick the little square again. there's other options there, too. -

you're other question (reactor trouble) Tyson will have to answer. I have some ideas, but I'm not sure. -
Jonathan 480 posts13 Jan 2007Thanks again. I love the way Max does with the polygons. I mean, I can create a chamfer box, and not have to select edge/bevel like in Maya, etc.
Of course, that's just a small thing. But the drop down box in the Modifier list is also another great idea. But I digress.

13 Jan 2007It works on the keyboard shortcut too, press q multiple times and it cycles through the selection methods.
