3ds max and importing MPEG-4 video files

Hello everybody

I recently bought new sony DCR SR100 Hard disk cam. and it records video in mpeg-4 format. now i tried to import recorded mpeg-4 video in max.Even max shows format support for mpeg,but can't import in max. if i import video in combustion, it plays video at 5 frames of interval.and it shows same frame for each 5 frames.
is there anyway to import mpeg-4 format videos in max so i can later rendered out in image sequences?

sorry for stupid questions.mods can delete this thread.
it's solved by win avi video converter.
