Holy Moley! have you seen the charrigger script , it takes a bit of fiddling, but the final rig has everthing, stretchy bones, fk,ik switches and everything is zero'd out too.

haha thats funny i just saw the site and wanted to share which is fun as i did a search i saw 20 posts about it and even some i was following but i always managed to never see the link
so its a cool site and i think there is a bit of script for everyone (especially script noobs like me :S)
