09 Oct 2005By the way, I think since version 6, they developped a lot of tools for animator and they didn't want to work on others things.
-Boolean is just bad
-Things like doors, Windows and foliages was exactly the same on version 3, then was removes for version 4-5, get back for 6 without any changes, still there for 7 and now with the 8, they still look the same.
-all the lines system could be better. It's not so bad, but AutoCAD is really better for lines. Even formZ has a better line system than Max. -

Toni 65 posts09 Oct 2005i got the trial this morning and played around with it for a couple of minutes.
The sweep mod (i think that should've been called 'sweet' mod. )
is really great, it makes the lofting tool look very outdated and hopefully they'll throw it out eventually. This little sucker is gonna save me so much time doing architectural stuff (wich i do alot!)
The hair and fur is nice, havn't got a chanche to test it extensivly. I was kinda dissapointed by the rendertimes when using hair and fur i think maya is faster.
i hope i can find some time to explore the new features a little better -
olli96 30 posts09 Oct 2005the sweep modifier is great but they wont get rid of loft, lofting is great and i would miss it. the sweep modifier is great for creating a skirting board and will save a lot of time.
