Ok, this is a general evil question.
Ok, I need help on how to think when going about modelling. I've created a model, it's not great, but is rather complex geometrically (and probably doesn't have to be). I want to texture the thing rather than using standard very boring metal materials and the like, but when I go to unrwrap it, I can't make head nor tails of it in anyway.
This boils down to the question I ask the more experienced members here, when you are modelling with a view to unwrapping and texturing, what is your thought process as you make your geometry?
