Rendering Hair

02 Apr 2007I was wondering if anyone has any methods on how to render hair as quickly as possible. My render times are at 2-3 minutes without any lights.
I've tried to mess with count, passes, multi-strand etc.
What eats up time, and whats efficient? Any help would be greatful! -
02 Apr 2007You're talking about max hair&fur right? If so, I don't think you're going to have much luck...it's perpetually slow

08 Apr 2007actually, I installed max 9 the other day and the hair and fur modifier is 10 times better. Render times are still long, but very bearable. I like it alot.
