i updated it as fast as it came out!.. and WOW.. it just rocks
plus that they added FinalShader to Finalrender St1 R2 is just ?ber great
all in all i must say this renderer has come a LONG way...

02 May 2007Could you guys post some benchmarks scenes and/or rendertimes? I'm curious about the alleged speed increases

EDIT: i dont really know to make/give a good benchmark

06 May 2007T you have to try it, but there's so much stuff to know and understand that I still consider myself a novice at it.
There's four renderer now in it: fRImage, Hyper-GI, Quasi Monte Carlo, and the new one AQMC that I'm starting to understand and like alote cause it's pretty easy to understand.
But knowing you T you would pick it up quick, check the http://www.cebas.com site will give you a good idea. -
08 May 2007i had a chance to try it i was definately faster than the older versions !!
but it came to me that it is very unstable couse it coused many times to crash max when i used the shaders sometimes.
it crashes when you try to mix things with max default materials (for example i tryed various things displacement mapping and lightening and fur (it has no compability with standart max fur and hair) it crashed almost everytime. -

11 May 2007The reason you are crashing is a lack of memory, but there's an alternative (since in my case the machine that as the most ram is 2gb and other 1gb)
Change to dynamicMSP as an accerating engine, and of course DynamicBitmap if you have big mappings.
Hope it helps, cause fR is worth it, complicated but once you get a hang of it it's ok, and the new AQMC renderer just rocks. -
11 May 20072 gig isnt enough?
windows xp cant really handle more then 2 gig as i know (of course you can start your pc but windows wont use more than 2 gig exept you have physical memory extention patches but i heard that it isnt really better with it.)
but i keep that in mind ar LutiK
