i am attempting to model a body using reference images in max. i've set up my two intersecting planes and applied my reference images. the problem is the images are blocky. the resolution in the viewport is blocky.

i've checked the autodesk forums. i've went to configure/preferences - viewport and changed the button resolutions to 1024. nothing happens. i've also tried every driver. software, open gl, and direct 3d. no dice.

when i render a still frame the image applied to the plane is crystal clear. the image is originally 1774x1224. the size of the plane has been divided by ten. the plane is actually 177.4x122.4.

any help is appreciated.

try right clicking on the viewport name and opening up its properties and in there turning on texture correction.

tried the texture correction and there was no real change. does my monitors resolution have anything to do with it?

Sounds like you tried everything I could think of, but go thru this tutorial: http://www.onnovanbraam.com/index.php?t ... int_setup/ and make sure your settings match just incase.

It will never be perfect, but you should get decent quality in the viewport.
Also after you change settings force max to refresh the textures by going into expert mode and back, sometimes this helps.
