I just can't find where, and I'm sure max can give me a counter in the corner of my render, anyone? I found a plug-in but I'm sure max can do it.

Not too sure how to get a frame counter on an actual render.. but it's easily done on an animation preview.
Animation>Make preview and check the 'frame numbers' in the 'display in preview' window.
