Hey, once again I have some questions for you guys. I have a final project for my texturing and lighting class due on the 13th of december. I need to texture and light a scene with a bunch of Dawn of war models. I did not model any of the geometry in the scene, I just have to texture and light it. I uploaded a grayscale render so you can see what I have setup so far.
By the way im using 3dsmax 7, and V-Ray version 1.47 educational version.
What do you think about the setup? Do you have any suggestions about where things should be placed? Also, how would you go about texturing a scene like this? I plan on having the drop pod door(center) opened. I will have some marines coming out of it in various poses. I already have the dreadnaught textured, but I want to make sure I go about texturing the rest the right way. I was planning on doing UVW unwraps on all the objects but I dont know if I have the time. I could do box mapping on most of it, but I would't get the detail level I need. Also, since I will have so many objects in one scene I will have TONS of ID's per object. Would it be a good Idea for me to export the character models, and building ruins to different files and render them in different passes?
Ive never done something of this scale, and I want to make sure I do it the fastest, and most efficient way possible. I want to get started texturing ASAP because this is HUGE for me.
