Max needs Paint Effects!

Jonathan 480 posts08 Apr 2008We got some cool grass/hair, etc. and some cheesy trees, but we need Paint Effects.
Who agrees?
One day, Autodesk will release Mayax.

08 Apr 2008You could always paint a mesh in Maya and import it into Max.

08 Apr 2008I agree! I also think there's been quite a few attempts to make it. I seem to vaguely remember coming across them from time to time in forums or at places like http://www.scriptspot.com/
The one I did remember about only paints feathers on things, but it's really cool!

Jonathan 480 posts08 Apr 2008Objects tend to get a little funky and messy when coming out of Maya, with either FBX or OBJ.

11 Apr 2008Ah, I was under the impression nobody actually used paint effects for anything useful since you have such a limited palette of objects that all look generic and bland. Sounds neat though I'll have to play around with it.
