I recently aquired

some very detailed (4000 x 4000) poser textures and have already set up the uvw's on a few of my models the same as posers v4 model.
however when I try and load the maps into material editor in Max9 I start getting memory errors and memory I/O errors.
My question is how can a piece of porn in a box software like poser handle absolutely massive textures while max chokes on them.
I've tuned on bitmap paging and resaved the maps in different file formats but max still hates them
All I can find on the net is that I should upgrade to 64bit but I dont think thats not good enough.
I even tried the "3 gig switch" and it still wont have them.
What I want is to do away with all my maps and have one 1600 x 1600 monster that will handle any scene I throw at it
