New car + underwater vehicle idea - tips for modeling?

rrateme95 262 posts07 Aug 2008Hey everyone I watched the incredibles again a few days ago and kinda had two ideas, one for a weird car(and by weird.... I mean car-with-one-freaking-massive-wheel-weird) and one for a sub aquatic vehicle (I have no idea what sub-aquatic means, except that it means something that goes underwater.... i'm just using it to sound fancy =D). I'm kinda done the design process but now modeling it... I have no idea how to do it, because the thing is I can usually be able to do a tutorial with new modeling techniques but I never know which ones to use when i'm doing modeling on my own... any ideas?

07 Aug 2008when modeling something that i've never modeled before, I usually just take a good look at the surface of the object for a while, and start to draw topology on the image, just to see if it might be easier to do with sub-D's or nurbs or a host of tactics. Usually I concentrate on one piece at a time and just get all the parts built, then put it together. It really just depends on how you like to work. My advice is this, dive in and start just going for it. You'll figure out what's working and what's not soon enough. Just start going at it, post some progress, and we can help you along. That's what this place is for right?
