Does anyone know if it is possible to create a surface / mesh / model from points imported from AutoCAD? Or do I need some other software to do this?
Any help hugely appreciated

Heya. Yeah it's possible. I use Maya at work to create some 3D Viz stuff, all based from AutoCAD drawings. I export the drawings from Acad as .dxf and Maya Imports them without a problem, I think Max is exactly the same, if not better at doing it. Just make sure you set the dimensions the same in both packages (cm or meter etc).
