Hey guys,,
Im gunna put a few questions out there in hope that anyone can share their knowledge.
I am new to animation and have recently started rendering in mental ray. When I enable depth of field on my camera, it add's a little more render, that i can live with, but is there any way to speed it up. Also, im not to savy with depth of field and other camera effects so was wondering if the majority usually do all these effects in max or AE later on.
Also, with my DOF in max, the backgorund seems to get very distorted in way of noise, is this just a simple case of bumping up the gather samples or is there some secrets i need to know

.
For example, in tysons anims i notice that the edges for most things are not as sharp as a normal render gives, so i assume some bluring is used or DOF but im not sure on these things at all. If anyone could recommend a dvd or book too id be greatful.
Edit ----- Just posted a quick render to show you my problem. I'd rather opt for a AE way of doing dof as my render time is much longer now.
Sorry i didn't turn the bones off lol..
Thanks
