I'm currently looking into upgrading my pc to 64 bit quad core 8gb ram, and just wondered - does the hard drive make a difference to how max will run, especially when rendering?
Currently looking at:
2 x 146GB (15000Rpm) SAS Raid1 Mirrored
Will this be ok or should i be looking at something else?
Any help greatly appreciated

Hi,
If you go get a faster sata drive or even a ssd, then yes it will affect max just like it will affect everything else. However, it will not affect it a great deal. Save some cash and hold on the HD's man.. Btw, any reason why your getting 8 g ram ? There's not really much need unless your going to use it.

Yes it will....the greatest improvement you'll probably see is in textures. (ie, ones displayed in the viewport, or ones displayed in the material editor). If you have really large texture files (as I often do)...getting a fast HD which can read them into memory quick will help tons.
