W0rking of realz!!

22 Aug 2005Hey all....not sure if all of you know this (I know some of you do)....but this is officially my 4th week being here in Minneapolis Minnesota working full-time for Make LLC.
Which means after all of these years of doing CG as a hobby while going through highschool etc, and only dreaming of doing it as a career.....I am now an official CG professional!
The move down here from Canada was a bit stressful...getting the proper work visas, packing up all of my needed stuff and getting settled in here etc.....but now that I'm here this job freaking ROCKS!
Just thought I'd post that...now that it's kicked in that I actually might get to do this "cg" stuff for the rest of my life

You have more than earned it. Hopefully a few others on here can someday be able to post the same thing. (though I'd count myself out of that one. )
I hope you enjoy Minneapolis, its a nice town though a bit cold (well maybe not for a Canadian.) I'd recommend that you go to Madison for halloween too BTW, lots of fun, loads of MN kids come here for it. -

It does kinda feel good to say doesn't it? (I'm not sure that I can say that about myself and believe it just yet but I will keep you posted! hehe)
All I have to say to you though is that this is but the first step in what I am sure will be a very long and successful career. I'm sure I will not be the only 'virtual' friend that will be keeping a close eye on you and your career as the years roll on. Best of luck mate!
(Luck?! meh... with that talent you won't be needing any luck... hehe)

Kieran 57 posts23 Aug 2005I live in Madison, WI going to the uni there. It's close enough by American standards, if you decide to go for halloween look out for the guy dressed as a pint of guinness (I'll be constructing/painting the whole costume).

ant- 73 posts24 Aug 2005congratulations on the new job, it is a really great thing to enjoy going to work, i'm very lucky to be the same, i was wodering do you know people that arn't so grateful for the same though, i know i work with some very talented, but quite jaded people who have been doing this a very long time, and seem less than enthusiastic now. Still its coming up to my 1 year experiance mark, and i still enjoy going to work.... which reminds me i said i would be in early today, so i really should get out of bed

24 Aug 2005Well I currently work mostly with people who are really gung-ho for their work so no problems like that here
Ask me in two weeks though and I might hate it lol
