pass the gun here please.i haven't had a day off in almost 4 weeks now, and we work late every night. (not through the night, though! haven't done that since "meet the fockers"! thank god!)

don't clients get it? whatever it is - movie, commercial, online whatever... they rush rush rush - "we gotta have it for memorial day weekend!" or whatever. Then it comes out, and everyone says "it looked kinda crappy, they coulda done a better job". WTF?! Just push it 2 weeks! none of those things - movies, commercials, tv shows, whatever we're working on - is so important that the world can't wait 2 more friggin weeks for it. push it 2 weeks, every gets to sleep and does better work, you have a little more time to tweak things...

this is good for long hours.
i'm a total star wars geek. so, when i first got out here and started working in creature/costume/prop/makeup shops, i found lots of other star wars geeks. one guy had the original 3 star wars movies on audio cassette. we would have "star wars days", where we'd listen to the whole trilogy. if we spaced it out enough, like once or twice a month, no one else in the shop minded (who doesn't like star wars?!). then i put "last starfighter" on audio. then "real genius" and "princess bride". then i stopped using cassettes and started making cd's. then, 2 years ago, i got DVD audio ripper, which pulls the audio off dvd's and makes WAV's and turns the chapters into tracks. and fast, too. so now i have a whole folder of movies on audio cd. something like 50 of them. and i got a few people i used to work with really into it too, and they have about 50.
listening to movies makes the time go REALLY fast. every kind of movie. my favs are Kevin Smith things and other comedies, like galaxy quest.

Dude, Tyson and I listen to coast to coast AM with Art Bell re-runs on Winamp radio, Oh man, some awesome people call in on that show! Witches, Satan worshippers, Crazies in general and people who "Used to work at Area 51" are all among the usual. I highly reccommend having a listen sometime if you arent already familiar.

there's a little email group here at R&H for coast to coast, and i'm in it! funny show, although i don't get to listen as often as i'd like! we're always passing around weird online articles and stories and pictures.

HA! that's awesome. We have some pretty good laughs at that show quite a bit. One night I actually got a cabride home from an old employee of Area 51 (sure dude.....) who was demoted and threatened and was eventually paid off to keep silent about what he saw. Which explains his cabby job. Needless to say, Art Bell was on his radio station that night.
