Archer's "podcast"

Their (g3org3 and Archer's) first cast is pretty rough....but as I was listening through it I actually think it's a pretty cool idea!
Personally, if I were to do one I'd prefer to do it along the lines of techniques and ways to do things in a particular software package, as opposed to CG News and industry discussion...but the idea of doing interviews and stuff in an internet broadcast could actually be really cool!
Your thoughts? -

08 Sep 2005Yeah, it'd be a good idea if done well... It would be cool to see interviews with all the people from these forums, and others as well as those working in the industry.

g3org3 355 posts08 Sep 2005Ya it was really rough. I thought it was a good idea so i agreed to be the first guest. THe worst thing is that I think we rushed it. WE need to find a better way record voices over the internet. Also we didnt really rehearse it that much so that was bad. I would like to do the same episode again for it to be more proffesional. And this time maybe we will do it not right after i wake up from working a graveyard shift :S.
His plan isnt just about news and stuff but every aspect of Computer Graphics. Hopefully archer is succesfull with this idea and It will go well. But it will take awhile to get big. -

08 Sep 2005ive listened a bit of it the other day, i found it interesting too, hope he doesnt run out of ideas
maybe it would be a little more interesting if it had image too.. showing screenshots of what theyre talking about etc -
09 Sep 2005That's what I was thinking....almost turn it into a radio/video talkshow. I'm sure with Camtasia (or any other screen capture software) you could still keep the filesize low even with 20 minutes of video (because screen captures are usually at a much lower framerate)

09 Sep 2005I listened the show too. It's cool. As I said to Archer, some interview with poeple as Ryan Church, Dylan Cole, Feng Shu, etc. would be great.

09 Sep 2005yeah it is pretty cool i actually might be in his next episode we are colaberating on a piece about the role of cg in the gaming industry and the path that it will take in the future so if ur interested in game development tune in . we are going to talk about the quake conference held by id and a lot of new stuff that is just hitting the industry. its more or less going to turn into a debate towards the end because ive never seen eye to eye with archers ideas(ex: we are still debating how and why his site design looks bad). but it should be fun for the most part
