Quadro vs Geforce 7 series

17 Oct 2006Im sat on a pc atm that has Quadrofx4500 inside, and im using a max file from home and im running on a Geforce 7800gt at home (soon to be SLI bridged 2x7800gt (drool))
I dont notice any difference at all, everything runs perfect lol, i suppose id have to do some tests but for my workflow the cheeper option the geforce was best. -
17 Oct 2006I have a quadro fx at work and dual 7900 Gt's at home. To be honest, The dual doesnt do crap for you really unless you are playing video games or developing realtime shaders. And having a cleaner computer that gets reformatted from time to time makes a huge difference. My comp at work has problems running files that run just fine at home sometimes. I think that your best bet is to just go with a consumer level graphics card unless you have the cash to back up a moneypit quadro. Especially seeing that by early next year, computers are going to take a GIGANTIC leap in performance, and Vista will be right there to hog all the available resources up..

18 Oct 2006im getting my second 7800gt mainly because im studying computer games and later in my course its going to help alot
