Hey chaps... I'm posting a few questions here on behalf of a friend of mine that can't do the posting himself (it's a language thing). At first he asked if I could get in touch directly with Tyson (hey yeah T... you are getting a name for yourself in the CG industry out here in Thailand - despite the fact that I keep telling everyone you are just some punk kid!

)
Anyhoo, the questions are relating to becoming competent in the VFX field, and since there are a number of talented VFX guys here I thought I'd post for all to answer. The questions were pretty vague (perhaps it was my translation!) like, what do you need to know to get into VFX? What does it entail? (ie, what would be expected of you - are there subsets of knowledge or specialities within the field or is it very general)
I did tie him down to more specific questions though - like... how did you start or what steps did you take to get to where you are today? And also, in an average week could you break down software usage (ie... 20% of my time is used with AE, 60% with Max)
So post general musings here about the field of VFX, and any hints tips etc are all good.
Thanks for reading my ramble!
