I use HDR a lot and that seems over-done.
I usually only use 3 images at max and usa merfe to hdr, seems to work fine.

Im pretty new to it and im looking how to do it.
So basically your doing somthing like this
Under Exposed
Correct Exposure
Over Exposure
and then joining them all?.

Yup, so you have the highest and lowest values to work with.

What about all the data in between? What if some parts havent become exposed, or they are overexposed?

i know when i've used them at work sometimes, they have at least 5 exposures, usually alot more.

I was playing around with the api for my camera a while back, trying to automate the exposures and captures, to just plug it into a laptop and run the script to take the captures, and then bring it into Photoshop and assemble them. Pretty tricky actually.
