hah lol.. I know that road.. I didn't mean to buy it yet.. first see if some of the schools and studios in Belgium use it.. I also like to check everything for my self..
as for the camera I normally use my pc1000 3cmos cam.. it small and neat and does a great job.. even tho most ppl are not so happy with it... I find it just fine, even in a low light condition I get good picture.. I just shot a concert, where only lights I had were the ones from stage... once I finish that clip, I'll post it.. not much fx there, but I do intend to color it differently tho, as the stage was white (wtf???) so it don't look very nice..
anyway back to topic.. for this cam I just firewire it straight to PP, as for HDV, we run in FCP.. but that's not my job..
I did wonder however if there is a significant loss of data when just firewiring, but I guess for simple DV it don't matter that much..

yeah, I can wait for it to arrive... I'm not so concerned yet about the inputs and all..
I do however plan on buying a HDV cam sony or panasonic.. something in the $3000 range.. I'm still looking.. this question was aimed more to that phase of my work.. as I find it a little pricey to buy a whole mac studio at the moment.. plus for music video PP works like a candy..
but since I'll be building my own key this summer, I wanted to buy an HDV cam, and was just wondering a bit on how these "common" hard/software setups affect data transport
