Autodesk buys out Alias!

Oh my!!!! Will this mean there will be like a Maya/3Dsmax Mixed program with the best bits of all... yes please.
This is pretty big, like Apple buying out Microsoft. -

this is pretty amazing news i wonder what it means for the future of 3d modeling apps. -

N2ChristTheKing 22 posts08 Oct 2005This stunned me, and while I'm excited about some of the things that may happen I'm also scared about what they might do to Maya. If they even think about killing the hotbox I'll be seriously mad. This can?t be good for the CG industry in the long run though, especially if they can force any of the other players out of the market.

12 Oct 2005hehehe yes, For the moment, we're not 100% of why Autodesk bought Alias. At the beginning, I thought maybe autodesk want to kill competition, buy alias, turn off Maya.
As most of poeple, I thought a 3dmax/maya version could appear.
But import/export is a good thing for the moment. It's always bad when you're stuck to 1 software because of import/export compatibility.
Look forward to see more info about it.
