300!! *spoilerific*

Holy crap!

Just got back from the 12am show. All I will say right now is that expectations were met, exceeded, conquered, destroyed and made to look a fool.

Going again on Saturday to IMAX.

Anyone else see it yet?

Oh man oh man I can't wait to see it!

Sadly, there are no theatres in New Zealand. HOWEVER, I am renting a rowboat and am going to visit Cam up in Tasmania, and there, we WILL DINE IN HELL!

I saw a long clip of it online and it looked cool, but the fights I saw were entirely in slow motion. Is it like that during the entire movie? I hope not!

i saw it at the theatre at downtown disney in orlando yesterday.....i was blown away by it.

Just got back from the Imax, purdy damn cool.

Though on the big screen like that the slight goofs with the CG kinda jump out, but still... it was a feast for the eyes.

However nearing the end it just all kinda started to blend together. I dont know if i burned myself out on the trailers but when it was all said and done it felt like i knew what was going to happen over and over (knowing the history behind it was also kinda a buzzkill

It kinda bugged me that the things that made the spartans such badasses wasnt really in the flick, infact they took a lot of it out. yeah, they kept the kick ass fighting but they took out all the stratagy and advantages that the spartans had against the persian army.

like the deal made with the hunchback. The king talked a big game about how they stay in formation and fight together then two battles later it was everyone for themseleves. Bah im just bein nit picky. Still fun to watch, great visuals.

heh good point I hadn't thought of that. They really only fought in formations in those first two battles.

Damn I am so angry... I went to see this last night and ended up walking out!

Nothing to do with the film mind you - more the theatre that I went to see it. I went to a new shopping mall (there are about a million shopping malls in Bangkok - the place is littered with them and there are still more being built!) There was a showing at 10pm... it was 8pm and I didn't want to wait. But the VIP theatre is showing at 8.40. Now, the VIP screens here are pretty damn plush - You get your own little semi-boxed off cubicle for two, totally reclinable seats, a thick duvet and fluffly pillow and they throw in fruit punch and cookies. All well and good but I also want digital projection if I'm paying that much (It costs quite a considerable amount more - like 5 times the normal price). Is it digital projection I ask... yes they say. Fine. I'm thinking... hey, my girl is pretty important to me... I'm pretty important to me too... so why the hell not have a blow out and be VIP's for the night?

We go in and the first thing I notice is that the armrest on my right is a little damp. No problem - I guess it's just condensation from the last guy's drink. I then put my left hand in some sticky sweet chilli sauce left by the last guy. I throw a minor tizz and demand that it gets cleaned as I go and wash my hands (missing the trailers which annoyed me somewhat) But then all is well when I return to my seat and I start telling my girl that digital projection is just soooo cooool and wait till the last of the ads and trailers finish and then you'll see the difference as they switch to the movie.

... which of course, didn't happen. The movie starts and I know immediately that this is not digital!... Not only that, the projector seems to be pretty scratchy too. I'm livid! Apologize to my girl and say I just can't watch it like that and so we end up walking out after two minutes. the only saving grace was that I got my money back (thanks mainly to my girl who was pretty calm about it... I was about to explode which is really not the done thing here and gets you nowhere)

So yeah...

Oh... and I found out from a friend that digital is deffinately the way to see it here because they'd censored some of the erotic scenes. Damn Thai censoring... really gets my goat that one... but that's another story... another rant.

damn, reading that makes me want to get john to send a letter to them complaining.

And Global, sorry to hear about that man. I wish we had something like those VIP suites here. Although I can imagine that certain, things, happen in those that don't get cleaned up very well, and I'm not sure I'd like to sit in those chairs afterwards...
