Neat story!

12 Mar 2007Yea so I'm walking home from school again (late at night...similar to the Weta encounter)....and as I'm walking up some steps along a path....I see what I think is a small cat.
As I get closer...I notice that it doesn't look like a cat at all.....it looks a lot more like....a hedgehog!!!
Yep that's right folks....after sadly having to give away my hedgehog when I left the States (zachm has it now), to my delight I found one here!!!
It was the happiest little thing
....it was walking along in the dark, and when I picked it up, instead of getting all defensive like my other hedgehog used to do when scared, it just curled up and fell neatly asleep in my hands.
I didn't keep it of course, because it was pretty dirty (being a wild hedgehog of course)....but it was great to be reunited with my favourite type of animal once again here in New Zealand.

Although I forgot to mention it in the original post so I guess you can all have a generous 5% off.
Anywho...haha yea the annointing thing is REALLY weird...they don't just do it for toxins though. If you, for example, give the hedgehog a new treat that it really likes...it'll take a bite and then annoint itself. At first you're like "OH NOES IT IS TEH DYING!!!!! OMGARSH RABEZ!!!!!!"....but then you realize that it's ok and it's just being a cute little hedgehog -

14 Mar 2007Hahah zach at the tug-o-war thing. That was the funniest thing ever when it would happen. She gets the sock all up in her mouth, and then tries her darndest to back away with the prize by jerking with his whole body back and forth.
I seriously think I'm going to have to get another hedgehog. I just can't take all these wonderful memories!!!! -

Oh yeah... the milk thing is a really bad idea btw. Hedgehogs are lactose intolerant and, like cats, shouldn't really drink it. But they do like cat food though! (hedgehogs I mean, I guess we can say as read that cats also like cat food... unless they are particularly fussy) -

bzudo 151 posts15 Mar 2007i had hedgehog once, i stopped playing with it for a while and it got up on it's hind legs, crossed it's arms and started tapping its foot staring at me with an aggravated look on its face.
