Burbank burning

31 Mar 2007the town that i live in is on fire today.
just the hillside, directly behind the hollywood sign and universal studios. about 4 miles from my apartment. here's some cool pics!

31 Mar 2007nope, not at risk, really. i mean, it was only a few miles from my apt, but theres wildfires here in burbank every couple years or so, so you kinda get used to them. alot of concrete would have to burn before my apt was in danger.
it was put out by the time i got home at 7pm. -
31 Mar 2007We could see smoke from work today from the fire. Sucks man! Although I hear it's not a terribly bad fire since there are no Santa Anas.

T, i don't know, i didn't hear anything about it when i went home last night (i hate the evening news, much prefer mine in the morning). By the time i left work yesterday though, I had heard rumors of it being caused by some fireworks being set off by residents of the Oakwood Apts directly behing Universal Studios. From what I understand, those Apts are not permanent apts, just long term ones, for arranged groups of people who come out here to LA for various reasons. I saw them (the apts) once on a documentary on the Learning Channel, something about a group of those little girls who do beauty shows, a la Jon Benet, coming out here for some training and competitions. So maybe it was them!
