02 Jun 2007this is pretty cool stuff. found it on Mark Christiansen's blog.
its some new software thats going to be presented at Siggraph (i think). well, it doesn't sound like it will be software that is released, just new technology to show off. they take high res still from digital cameras and use it to up-res regular video up to 4 times. it's pretty dang amazing, and the possibilities are pretty awesome! one thing that really jumped out at me was the stabilized shot of the guy with the city in the BG. they show the plate, they show it stabilized with current software, then they show their version. WOW.

03 Jun 2007Wow man, I think I'm going to get a job pumping gas. Which is the kind of job that people joke about robots doing soon. But in reality, I think the robots will have US pumping THEIR gas, or filling up their low carbon footprint energy cells powered by renewable resources, while they munch on microchip lunches brought to you by PanaSonyMicroApplesoftSung.
Or maybe this will be cool technology to watch evolve into something with an interface that will allow even the most skilled cg artists to become frustrated, because of limitations set by developers to keep the metal ones from coming for you.....
