I enjoy Digg.com a lot and thought it would be a cool idea to make a site like it. So my own social bookmarking website for CG
But what is it you ask?
It's a user driven social content website. now what the does that mean? Everything is submitted by our community (that would hopefully be you). After you submit content, other people read your submission and vote on what they like best. If your story is good and receives enough votes, it is promoted to the front page for the millions (if the site catches on :p ) of visitors to see.
What can you do as a user? Lots. Every person can vote (help promote), bury (help remove spam), and comment on stories. you can even vote and bury comments you like or dislike. Want to share a video or news story with a friend? Vote for it at
http://www.cgocracy.com
So with the help of you guys it can catch on and be really cool!
If you have any comments or suggestions on the site please let me know

I like the concept a lot, I'm also a big Digg fan myself. However, your overall site design is going to hurt your project in my opinion. The art is always in the concept as they say, but without a design that's easy on the eyes and easy to use it will be hard to bring people back on a daily basis.
Having said that, the layout itself I like. It's the buttons, colors and fonts that could use some work. It just seems very amateur, like a cookie cutter layout provided by Pligg or something. If you could improve upon the design I think this project could really take off.

Hmm, well if you're not too much into web design you're probably not going to want to mess with making your own Pligg Template. If you do a google search for Pligg templates you can most likely find one you like and then read the instruction either included with it or on the pligg website to figure out how to install it.
This one was on the first page.
You don't want to directly copy the Digg style but on that same note there is a reason it's been so successful. Do some searching and I'm sure you can find something awesome.

I really wanted to get that template but none of them work on pligg 9.6, yea it's very annoying, they're all waiting for pligg to go to version 1 before making the other templates work.
So I was stuck with the base template which was rather ugly and changed it to what I have now...
Templating in pligg is just not easy seriously, it's like 50 .tpl files and thats annoying.

Yeah templating anything sucks 9 times out of 10. It's usually only the most die-hard teams that pump out good templates due to the complexity of it, and it's usually done for exposure for their company.
Any idea when the new version will be released?

Templating is normally easier on other CMS but here it's a special hell, especially when all the templates break when you go from version 9.5 to 9.6... wow just wow.
Hopefully by next month version 1.0 should be released, but I'll still have my eye open for other templates or keep trying to hack away at this one.

You could always go with another CMS, something with more reliable templates that don't break every time there's an update to the core. =)
I definitely think this is a worthwhile project though, keep at it. I'm such a digg-whore, I'll definitely go to your site all the time.

Thanks for the support man,

If I can't get things working with pligg, I'll see if I can find another Digg like CMS.

Definately agree with whats been said so far, The colour scheme seems too in your face kind of thing, too contrasty, too bold e.t.c
If I were you, I'd go more along the lines of the top bar. Nice, simple, clean and neat.
You dont have a logo neither, you gonna need one!!
Also, main page, to me the first thing I look for is where to go next and on a digg style website that would be to go through the categories yeah? Whereas on my screen I have to scroll to the very bottom to find em.
