hey folks !
what's up guys
got a question for guys who do work in a compnany
tyson , zachm , hype etc
well, my question is
-what is the best high resolution for cartoon texture head character
i mean i am gonna do texturing for my character and later i wanna print it as a movie's posters as u can see them all in da cinema ..
well,my frineds in fact told me best one for render and for high quality resoultion is
2500*2500
any idea guys ? please help

2500 is a pretty decent, standard resolution for a character map. But if you are going for print, you might want to make the texture 4k and then export out a lower res one for your character depending on how close you get to it and how detailed it is. If it's just gradiations and some dots, you might even be able to get away with a simple 1k map.

i'd go with what zach says. I don't know what the texture artists use here, but I'm sure they're really up there in size, and they almost definitely use different res versions for different stages.

I don't think I've ever used larger than 2k for characters. Usually I'll do 1k or even 512, but then again I've never done stuff for print.

Well, for cartoon look, I don't know if you need any texture.
Just use some ink/paint shader, or plugin like "ilustrate".

Hey ELEMNT,
For anything non-HD res, 2k should be big enough. Once you start moving into HD (and higher) resolutions, then 4k, 5k etc etc become better options.
For a film I'm currently working on, which will be rendered out in HD, many of the textures are at 4k, and they still look nice and not pixellated when seen at full scale.

Aint it a rule of thumb that closeup items should be double the resolution as the movie its in? I've always done that.
