Hey everyone,
I'm learning how to texture my models (I've only ever played with animation... I never actually learned to model/texture/light very well... heh) and have a question for you.
If I'm going to make texture maps for my model-- color, specular, bump... does it matter what kind of shader I use (blinn, lambert, etc)? I was reading about the differences between the shaders... but it seems like those properties are defined (maybe over-ridden?) by the texture maps. True?
Thanks!

Sure it can in some instances, but for the most part I just use the default Blinn shader.
However, if I need cheap translucency I'll use the translucency shader...or sometimes the Metal shader looks nice etc, but for the most part when it comes to the "basic" shaders (blinn, phong, etc) I can't tell the difference.

I like Phong more, You'll really have no need for lambert, you can make blinns and phongs look like them, and still have the ability to reflect.
