It's only 4 people, I mean, yeah it sucks and I'm sorry for the people, but this is only on the news and talked about all over because its a big thing. Not to sound Cliche, but thousands of people die from dumber things all around the world. It's just bad engineering.. nothing worse.

Yea...I guess the main reason it's being so pumped....is because it's not everyday a major bridge collapses...I mean, it was part of the I-35 (or something like that I-23, J-55, whatever), which...if my memory serves me correctly, was a pretty busy stretch of highway!

I haven't heard much on this, but from what I heard there were construction crews repairing things or something on the bridge. That probably was a huge factor.

all the construction was doing was on the deck, nothing to do with the actual structure of the bridge. just re-paving and what not.
though it could have contributed a lot to it.
had the bridge not been under construction and all the lanes were open it could have been a lot worse. figure that half of the bridge was being used.

yeah, but the thing with their definition of "structurally deficient" doesnt always mean its going to fall down, so it gets put onto the side burner.
it sucks.
