ant- 73 posts03 Jul 2005just to introduce my self, i'm anthony. Cameron invited me here, and it all seems shiney and new.
As for me, i'm living in london, and i'm lucky enough to be working for the moving picture company working on commercial projects.
Maya Shake Photoshop are my expertise and I work on all aspects of cg, except programming.

One thing though, what is Shake? I've heard of it but don't know the exact details and such of what it does and what it's capabilities are. I know it's used alot in studios and such but never been on the sampling end. Do you think it warrants it's own section on these forums? Is there enough talk and traffic to keep it alive? -
ant- 73 posts04 Jul 2005shake is a compositing package owned now by apple, but the majority of its user base is still on linux, and its discontinued completly on windows.
its at a higher end of the market than combustion, but it does run on standard hardware unlike flame or inferno.
its used on just about every film post house in the world. in fact if you saw the last harry potter movie. the womping willow was actually rendered out from PRMan in various passes and then completly lit inside shake. even though it has no 3d tools at all. (although mpc wrote quite a lot of proprietry software to do that)
I wouldn't say you need a new section, its all under general compositing really -

I too am also gonna be looking at Maya in the hope it will open more doors - so expect to have you brains picked, analysed, and stared at in some wierd operating theatre at some point soon. -
