In a fit of blind rage!

04 Sep 2007Imagine my surprise to find this wee fella as my welcoming page!
Now I know that conspiracy theories will abound... but I'm pretty convinced it was either Tyson, (perhaps in a fit of jealousy at my astounding contributions to the CG world, combined with his awe at my general handsomeness and godlike physique) or Cam (Who keeps looking at my week-old cheese sandwich with what can only be described as wanton greed!)
Fortunately I was able to speak to the Camsco himself, and after a somewhat large bribe and various underhand dealings (inluding promises to post my nail clippings to him in envelopes marked with S.W.A.L.K) I managed to restore my good name and can now contribute once again to this fine forum!
...did anyone miss me?!

04 Sep 2007Im thinking one of the spammers we've banned must be on the same ip network that Lee uses from home. Tis all I can put together, coz it was a simple IP ban generated from our approving stage.
Weird, but there u have it. -

Is it possible I have some virus sending out spam mail from my home PC without my knowledge?!?! -

We definately aren't banning you on your account.
I honestly dont know which methods these badword's are using so I cant say for sure that its not coming from ur pc.
If you can, double check somehow thats it isnt, if not which Im pretty sure it wouldnt be, go to http://www.whatismyip.com, write that down, then contact your ISP and ask them whats going on and see if you can find some answers there.
Alternatively if you're on a dynamic IP, you can restart your modem or reconnect it and it should assign a new IP.
If not, I can change the script we've got that bans the spammers by their IPs, and run that against approved members to double check that the IP being banned doesnt belong to one of our active members.
Trouble with that last method is, the spammers will get through again and again. Me and T are run off our feet with these guys lately.
But yeah, we in a royal pickle. See if you can if its happening at your end would be great to know.
And anyone else if you're having similar problems? give me a shout out![/i] -
