I couldn't live without my 6x8 wacom. Ever since my first job in the industry, I can't open photoshop without it! I HATE using a mouse in photoshop anymore.
It's also nice when doing painting in whatever compositing program you use.
And, if you spend 8+ hours a day in front of a computer, at some point, guaranteed, your hand is going to hurt a bit. It's great to have that pen nearby to just be able to keep working and give your hand a different position to be in for a while.

My boyfriend just got the special edition 6x8 wacom. It comes with the regular pen and another pen with a bunch of different nibs you can use with it. Plus it looks badass because it's black!

I remember using a mouse a long time ago, but now, I wouldn't even have one if I didn't play video games on my comp too.

I use my wacom everyday. I haven't touched a mouse in a looooooong time. Very recommended.

Hey all, thanks for the replies! I was considering the , which for the moment comes with a free airbrush.
The only thing I need to convince myself over is whether it's suitable for my monitor set-up. For one thing, I use 4:3 monitors at the moment, and this tablet is 16:10. But in future I'll probably upgrade to a widescreen monitor. The other thing is that I use 2 monitors, so I'm not sure what the workflow will be - use a mouse for the secondary monitor, and the tablet for the main, or span both monitors with the tablet...
Decisions, decisions.
Cheers!

Span the tablet over the two monitors and use the pen as a mouse, so you can easy navigate around without loosing the pen features - makes more sense when you have a tablet to play with

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I decided to go for the standard A5 (8x6) tablet. It came yesterday and it's already changed my life!
There's a setting in the control panel for left hand users. I guess it just reverses the tilt sensitivity. I'm particularly impressed with how you can customise every button on the tablet and the pen to do whatever you want, for each app you use.
Tres cool!
