Well...I hate to compare the two since they were made in totally different eras and in different styles and with different levels of technology...but to be honest, the new Kong is about 1000x more entertaining than the old one.
Sure the old one was a marvel etc, but it simply can't hold up to the extreme craziness of the new one
Go see it to believe it!

WAW!! Saw Kong last night (was offered to go with a freind, even though i was in so such shape to go, coulde'nt turn this down!) i thought it was totally awsome. Probarbly the best cinema experience i've ever had - everyone was in the zone at the theatre, cheering and everything, never seen that before in the cinema. Was a blast!
Have'nt seen the original - i didnt have a clue where it was going, so the ending came as a bit of a suprise. I just can't believe how good this film was. It was made so beatiful, i really hope the guys at WETA get a special Oscar for this, Kong him self was outstanding. The thing that blowed me away most was Kong Vs. the 3 T-Rex scene, awsome aniamtion there. I was also amazed by the attention to detail they did for New York, it really felt like it was back in the 40's (or when ever it was), was pretty good.
I'd love to go to Skull Island, was such a loveley piece of work, well done PJ and the team!
Actors were pretty good too, especially enjoyed Andy Serkis, didnt have a clue he was actually acting in it, great character he had. Neomi Watts, was really good too.
