Check out this video of a hiding octopus... this video was mentioned in the NYtimes. If I hadn't gotten this from the nytimes, I wouldn't have believed it.

that's awesome, i've seen those things on Discovery channel, it's freaky how many things they can imitate! The thing that blew me away about this particular video is, if you watch the octopus' profile, it actually matches the texture - like the spiky spines of the algae clump!

erhmm... since when can a Octupus use displacement mapping ?

if you look at the slowmo vid, there are 3 "tubes" sticking out from the rightbuttom of the octupus.

one thing is color/texture matching...

or should i just hit nature class again
