Demo reel advice

I had some fantastic news this week, and I have been asked to send a demo reel to someone I REALLY want to impress! I've never done a demo reel before and, much like a CV, there is an art to making a great one. Can anyone give me some pointers on how you should present your work, what to show, whether to use music etc. I could put an OK one together but I'm sure you guys have some great tips
! This is really important to me, I'm trying not to be giddy with excitement here haha. Thanks fellas

06 Apr 2008Hey bud thats sweet! here are some key points for demo reels...
Best piece of work first, (not favorite but best)
don't show anything twice.
don't put anything in just to fill time.
make sure your contact info is at the beginning and the end ( at the start no longer that 2-3 seconds, I try to keep it to 2)
basically keep in mind that whoever is watching your reel either has to watch tons every week or even every day. Making a short and to the point reel just what they want. thats also the reason you want your best work first, keep them interested.
