mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts19 Apr 2008i beleive the setting and mood in addition to what you listen to affect your work flow, so my question/questions is:
-where do you usually do the most creative thing.
-what kinda mind set and settings do you have, tv on/off, chair lower/higher, game on/off, screens 2or more?, anything.
-THE MUSIC what kinda music you guys listen to while working.
-what do you think is your biggest inspirations, or motivators to create and start a project (other than SimplyCG and Tyson
). -

As far as music while i'm working, I'll usually have on either streamingsoundtracks.com, adagio.fm, or 1980s.fm, depending on what i'm working on. Or nothing at all if it's a lip sync or intense shot. -
20 Apr 2008i've gotten my ideas in all sorts of places, just thinking usually in a boring line for food or on a drive somewhere, nothing specific.
as for music, i usually go with something relaxing like classic rock or reggae. -

Anywhere. If I have an idea, or I'm having to work out a concept, I start thinking of different ways to get to the end result. I do try to think along a path other than the obvious, but sometimes you have to go with what people expect to see. Sometimes.

I don't have any particular setting, but it helps if the kids aren't around asking me every question known to man.
-THE MUSIC what kinda music you guys listen to while working.
While working, if I'm not coding and have to really focus, I'll listen to 80's hair bands, metallica, Priest, Sabbeth, etc. No death metal. Never cared much for that. I do have to say though that the music gets tuned out while in 'in the zone'.
-what do you think is your biggest inspirations, or motivators to create and start a project (other than SimplyCG and Tyson ).
Motivators: A paycheque, learning soemthing new, solving an issue, personal satisfaction. Tyson has NEVER inspired me. Only made me feel small. So very very small.
I would suggest going about it in a way that works for you. If you dig eating ice cream whle working on the 'puter, then grab a pint. If you like to go for a walk and get ideas from what you see while out, the do so. Everyone is different. Try something new. Go to the Zoo if you have to do a project about hardware. It sounds crazy, but you never know what'll pop into your head.

mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts20 Apr 2008actually for some reason all the world ideas flow into my head while showering usually get soo distracted i spend like an hour or two under the shower ^_^ thx for the reply guys (true tyson makes people feel small)

20 Apr 2008How about Tyson being just a regular guy, that puts a little more passion and effort in his work to achieve what he wants?
It's not because it's Tyson that things are any easier for him! he worked hard to get at the level he is now, and deserves all the credits he gets from it.
I don't believe that he is trying to make people feel small at all, he is just enjoying himself!
That's what's inspiring, always trying to push things that little further and do that little extra to make it look better, while still having fun...
I don't think there is any special recepe to feel creative, work better, or make a good looking demo reel because everybody is different. What might work for one, might not for an other, so it has to be personal, and come from you! Develop your own things, your own style and that's what will make you pop out from the rest, otherwise you'll just be an other guy that does like everybody else...
You'll improve much more and much faster via trial and errors, than if somebody else lays it right down in front of you. -
