I am conducting a survey, and i would like your kind help.

1-do you watch your tutorials full screen or streamed size?

2-what resolution would you like to see your tutorials at? 1024x768 or 800x600 or perhaps larger (specify)!

3-what format do you prefer the tutorial to be in? flv? xvid? quicktime? wmv? or any other format?

4-how long do you think each video tutorial should be?

5-is there anything that you would like to learn but can not find a tutorial for?

6-what browser are you using?

4-how long do you think each video tutorial should be? Probably ten mins maximum

5-is there anything that you would like to learn but can not find a tutorial for? DEFINITELY TEXTURING (i can find alot but none that I understand)

1- i have 2 screens so i watch it full screen on my 2nd screen while i do things on the first one... tuts are like tv to me, i watch them from the corner of the eye, and pick interesting things... i only follow very few of them... on the other hand, if i found the tuton the web, i tend to just do the same with a fullscreen firefox window...

2-as long as i can read the text on the butons, that's fine with me... (so that means about 600*800 minimum)
(ain't that right camsco, with your lovley 200*200 5 year old tuts... )

3-as long as it plays without lagging, and the filesize is reasonable, i don't really care

4-well i guess it depends on the content... i'd say an hour and a half max, if more than that, it should be split in various chapters...

5-how to get a "normal" life...

6-firefox powa!

7- i like to archive everything i watch, as long as it's worth it... so a tutorial on how to animate a bouncing ball, i leave it cause i know i'll always find one easly on the web...
a tutorial that took me 2 hours of surfing to find about how to create a kick ass render in two click, that i keep...

I hate fullscreen unless it's a huge video that has decent enough quality. Almost everytime the quality is too low so watching it fullscreen is pointless because you can't see what they are clicking. Just my 2 cents though.

640x480 is fine assuming it's good quality and clear.

I prefer MOV's so I can stream them and still slide the frame around to where I want it.

Length is tough since it depends on the tutorial. I'm indifferent.

I use Firefox.

I prefer to watch them in my browser since I have a couple different comps and bounce between them. Sometimes I'll start a tutorial at work and continue it when I get home. Either way is fine though, it's just preference in the end.

A. Haven't dona avideo tut in a long time - but I guess whatever res the tut comes in (generally not full screen though as I would normally jump between app and tut)

A. 1024 x 768 is but 800 x 600 works for me (as long as it is clear)

A. Whatever, as long as the compression is good. I've seen some cyrstal clear tuts using xvid. I will say that I don't like wmv for tuts as navigation is crappy with windows media player

4-how long do you think each video tutorial should be?
A. I prefer concise and to the point tuts. I really like the Art of Rigging series - there's some pretty advanced stuff but generally broken up into 20 minute chunks (This is also good as you can repeat each step and get the info into your head... also I find it difficult to justify watching a 2 hour tut at work, no matter how good it might be!)

5-is there anything that you would like to learn but can not find a tutorial for?
A. A lot of video tuts focus on the technical stuff of rigging / comp etc. I'd like to see some stuff that focuses on the art... maybe something that really gets to the heart of things like animation principles (maybe there are and I just haven't found them yet... Or maybe I have found them and forgotten them! )
