I don't really have any experience rendering Max yet, but in Maya Software you have the choice of a MP filter and in Mental Ray you have the choice of 4-5 different filters all giving you a different look. I'm just curious what you guys like to use in that regard.
In software I always turn it off, and in Mental Ray I like to use the Mitchell filter. I really like the nice crisp look it gives you, but I've noticed more than one person prefer the slight blur you get from the Box or Triangle filter.
Thoughts?

Not sure what multi-pixel filtering is, but in max there's a "sub-pixel" filtering option. If things like maps and tiny objects flicker or sizzle, turning that on will fix the problem.

I usually use gauss or box.

I always use Mitchell for still images.
And gauss or box for animations...
Mitchell's my fav though.
Thats were I tend to go if I can afford it.

I think that from a end of the pipe standpoint, Mitchell is the way to go, you can always add blur, but it's tough to take it away.
