max and maya are now both autodesk

Have you seen this??? You Know max8 in back in the hands of autodesk

11 Jan 2006Yeah, it's old news but its good to see it went through in the end.
The way I look at it is: Max + Maya will continue to be produced seperately with support for both, but there will be a compatibility between them so files and scenes can be interchanged. That way you can model in the package you prefer, animate in the package you prefer, render in the package you prefer and sleep in the fireplace you prefer. -

... did I really just say that!
But yeah - good thing or bad thing, it happened and there's not a lot to be done about it. Whatever the outcome there will always be 3D packages, and so there will always be crazy people like us around to use em!
