Hey Guys
I'm new to this site but I've heard great things from my friends. So for my first post i guess i would like some feedback. I'm a student at the art institute in Minneapolis and i would like to be a character modeler but i know it is a very competitive industry and that one needs to rise above the masses. So with that being said based on my work below what are the chances that i could be a character modeler when i graduate in a year? and if no chance or small chance where should i broaden my focus?
two of the models i've done recently.

Heh, when I saw "Art Institutes in Minneapolis", I was ready to see some crappy lampshades and a computer mouse model. But these look great! I don't know too much about the character modeling industry, but I'd say you're well on your way. And a year left to graduate is a long time, I'm sure you'll improve lots and get a lot more to show on your reel.
These are leagues better than anything I ever saw at school when I went there. I'd say your in good shape!

is far as the model looks, they are amazing and it should not be a problem for you! if i'd be you i'd show the topology as well to let the industry see how your base mesh are and if they are animation friendly... nice work anyway, and welcome abord!

Thanks for the encouragement guys i guess it was much needed seeing that i go to a mediocre at best school. I just took a look at the FLURRY website and that looks like a lot of fun. why isn't flurry as known as MAKE and ghost? More crits would be great i need to know soon to decide a focus.
thanks all

BColbourn- Thanks, and i do really want to be a character modeler. Ai is a business not a school, that's all that needs to be said haha.
here is my new project I'm working on. it is going to be a druid elf type character for my reel if it turns out. i would like to add a four-legged companion but haven't thought of what i would like it to be. taking suggestions though. hope you like!

looking good so far, how far along are you at AI? I'm at fullsail right now and overall I've really liked it. its definitely a school first.

i have one year left before i graduate and am looking to make a huge push in this last year. I've heard good things about fullsail. do they consistently put out good work or are you the only one putting out good work? there is the talent factor. how much time do you have left? where is fullsail?

Hey man, that's some great work for a student who's got a year left. I think that if you just keep at it, and don't get sidetracked, you'll be all set to get a job modeling. If I were you, I'd start going at it trying to study anatomy and all that good stuff.

Excellent work man, keep it up!
